Last week I got an email from Liam over at C4 HQ asking if I was interested in joining them at a ’secret’ location for their 2011 Battle of the Paddle Hawaii (BOP) team rider training session. Of course I said I was interested and had a great time with the C4 team. I got a little lost at first, had to hike through bushes, fell in some mud but eventually I got to the secluded area where they had setup a mini BOP race course.

Mirrored off the classic Down River Sprint, the Maui Jim SUP Surf Sprint presented by C4 Waterman is a race against the clock in the heart of Vail on Gore Creek. Anyone up for the challenge will run this 3-mile stretch of Gore Creek from East Vail to Vail Village SUP style. Competitors must stand strong because snow melt from the nearby Gore Range makes for icy waters while navigating the class II/III course. Mix in a handful of low bridges, drops and wave trains as paddlers battle it out in the SUP’ing of Gore Creek. Continue reading ‘Stand Up Paddle Surf Sprint race at the Teva Mountain Games’

With three separate events and nine individual competitions raring to go in some of the most spectacular whitewater the planet has to offer, there’s more reason than ever to be in Colorado in the summer. The record snow fall of the recent winter will soon become record rapids!

Here is an interview with Starboard rider Tama Audibert sent to us by Margareta, Starboard’s marketing manager.
Local Tahitian and Starboard rider, Tama Audibert, snatched 2nd place in arguably the world’s largest SUP surf event.
