Blair 2011 Stand Up Paddle Surfing Boards – Video Interview
Here are some new SUP stand up paddle surfing boards from Joe Blair. He showed me 3 new models that are now in production. These are the latest generation of Joe’s signature easy to ride big boy short boards. Joe’s 8′11″ was the first “small” board I rode a few years ago and it definitely helped my SUP surfing learning curve. Hear from Joe about his new boards by clicking the video below.

Evan,
Have you tried out the 8/10 and the 9/6 yet?
@Jeff – I’ve ridden the 8′11″ (yellow one) quite a bit but not the 8′10″. Joe’s boards have been so popular that he’s currently out of stock until next month. I have a number of boards in the 9′7″ range so I didn’t try that one yet either.
The 8′11″ is an awesome board. It’s a big improvement over the first 8′11″ Blair he made for me a few years ago. This board has really good paddle power for a small board, yaw’s way less when paddling, surfs better and is more stable. It’s been a while since I enjoyed riding boards under 9′7″ because I really missed the paddle power but this one is much better than I expected. As with all Blair boards, it turns really easy, especially on smaller, rolling type waves on our South Shore.
yep, joe says that he is out of stock for a few weeks.
i am going to wait it out and order that 9/6
Out of stock?
Does he not shape them himself?
Erik
Erik – He shapes customs and has some production models made in China.
