I got a first hand tour of the mobile command center for Kainoa McGee’s Ohana Surf Project. Sean Anderson shows us both the Mercedes Sprinter van and the school bus looking board van. I have to say that I was impressed. This was the first time I’ve seen a Mercedes Sprinter used for a surf school. Definitely first class.

The 2015 Pacific Paddle Games was one of the biggest, craziest and the most stacked field of athletes I have ever competed against.
The first day kicked off with the first round of the technical race, which was four rounds of 25 people. And the top athletes made it straight to the semi-final round. The losers went into a repercharge round – and the winners of the repercharge would go to the semi-finals.

This year’s M2O race was the most challenging and grueling in recent memory.
The Blue Planet 14′ x 28″ Bump Rider model was well represented and the results show that this board works great in all conditions. It excels in good downwind conditions but also glides well in light winds.

Connor Baxter wins the Technical Race at the
2015 ISA World Championships
& Brings back Gold for Hawaii
The 2015 ISA World Championship in Sayulita Mexico was by far one of the most fun events ever. It was the first time for team Hawaii showing up and competing. The reason why the contest was so much fun was because we had 27 different countries come together for a week long battle. It was a nice change up to be able to cheer for your fellow teammates and make game plans with them so everyone did well.

Connor Baxter wins The 2015 St’Ives Bay Celtic Cup in UK
The 2015 St’Ives Bay Celtic Cup was not only a hard race, but it was freezing cold – especially being from Hawaii. The conditions were very challenging with howling winds and overcast skies. It was a 3 lap course that was about 4k each lap.

SIC was born on Maui and has a big presence there. It is clear to see that during the Maliko downwind run SIC has the absolute best boards for these conditions. It is estimated that 90% of the field at this weekend’s 7th annual OluKai Ho’olaule’a race will be riding SIC Bullet’s, regardless of their board sponsor. It is not just the SIC boards that are expected to perform well here, SIC has a talented pool of athletes paddling in this weekends race. Continue reading ‘SIC and the famous Maliko Downwind Run’

Last weekend Georges Cronsteadt took charge of the Air France Paddle Festival in front of all of his friends and family in Tahiti in the 24km Elite SUP Race. The 24km Elite Race Course was tough to say the least. The race began at Mahina (Pointe Vénus) with a downwind paddle which was definitely “difficult to navigate on a flatwater race board” said Georges. The race then led into the same course as the 9.5km Lagoon Course which allowed for the flatwater portion of the race up until the finish at Punaauia (Taapuna).
