Here’s a press release from Starboard regarding Ekolu Kalama’s movie project. I recently joined Ekolu for a SUP surf session 2 days before he left to shoot the pilot for this project. We were in double to triple overhead waves at Sunset Beach and I got some great video and pics…coming soon.

Current and past AccesSurf volunteers are: Buttons, Dane Kealoha, Fred Hemmings, Jack McCoy, Garrett Mcnamara, Ikaika Kalama, Kainoa McGee, Freddy P, Jimmy Buffet, Robin Johnston and many more. AccesSurf meets the first Saturday of every month at Barber’s Point (White Plains Beach) on Oahu, Hawaii. We are in need of more volunteers because of it’s continued growth in Hawaii alone.

Ohana paddlers came home with exceptional results in the first annual Gerry Lopez Rainbow Sandals Battle of the Paddle at Doheny State Beach. The elite division contained an incredible pool of talented paddlers from around the world racing on a closed-course with 126 biards in extremely challenging conditions with winds gusting up to 25mph. Team “Love”, the three member SUP team of Leah Dawson, Bianca Valenti and Geodee Clark swept the competition in Surftech’s inaugural Women’s SUP Challenge held in conjunction with the ROXY Jam Cardiff. The relay style event featured a unique format that awarded team points based both on paddling speed as well as surf skills. Each team member was required to charge the shorebreak and paddle around an offshore buoy before riding a wave and passing the board and paddle to their fellow team member.
