Caroline Angibaud claims victory at stop 1 of the Stand up World Tour in Hawaii
Caroline Angibaud has long been a serious threat on the Stand Up World Tour, with her best result to date until this 1st event on the 2015 season being the La Torche Pro France at the end of last year, where she finished runner up to Izzi Gomez (Starboard).

We are doing a reverse downwinder this Wednesday to take advantage of the Kona winds. Please meet at 4:30 pm at the boat ramp in Hawaii Kai. We will load up Jeff’s trailer and shuttle to Kahala where we will launch and finish back in Hawaii Kai.

The Sunset Beach Pro will once again provide the ultimate Tour opener in 2015
It is that time of year again, and the Stand Up World Tour will kick off at the end of next week with the Turtle Bay Women’s Pro, followed by the Sunset Beach Pro on the 10th February out here on Oahu’s Fabled North Shore.

Earlier in 2014, Will Schmidt set a world record and was the first person to standup paddle largely unassisted from Canada all the way down to Mexico on his standup paddle board. As you can imagine, this journey was an incredible accomplishment for Will as well as a trying time while attempting to overcome mental breakdowns and physical exhaustion. Will’s journey lasted a total of 61 days, 58 of which he was paddling.

After a challenging first outing at Pipeline last Friday in lacklustre conditions, an elite crew of 6 Stand Up Paddle athletes took to the water for an hour long exhibition, as the winds turned offshore, and the surf turned on for a unique showcase for Stand Up Paddling at Pipeline.

What Starboard says; … The 2015 8′-8″ Air Born is a larger version of the highly regarded 2014 Air Born series range for maximum shredding in smaller surf. Thin rails and profile (thickness) combine with the width for a stable yet sensitive and highly responsive ride. Drive and acceleration, when the wave is lacking power, is provided by the mono concave bottom creating the ability to generate speed and project vertically. Although a fast rocker, it’s still able to fit in the pocket for tight carves with release coming from V in the tail for letting the fins go when desired. This board was designed for the even larger riders in the over the 180 lbs plus providing plenty of float and stability. Mono-concave throughout the boards bottom..

Kai Lenny reigns supreme at inaugural Da Hui Backdoor Shootout in tough conditions
History was made today at Pipeline in celebration of the 50th Anniversary Duke Kahanamoku Invitational, as the Da Hui Backdoor Shootout kicked off with a showcase of all forms of ‘wave sliding’, from the simplest form of bodysurfing right through to Stand Up Paddling, as Hawaii’s best stepped up to do battle at the infamous Banzai Pipeline.
