Aloha and Happy Holidays, Sports and Suncare fans!
Shonny Vanlandingham recently took a well deserved “break” after winning the Xterra World Championships in October, by winning the XTERRA Ceara’ Triathlon in Brazil. http://www.xterrabrazil.com/ Yep, Shonny “vacationed” in Fortaleza, finishing 6th overall among all competitors and keeping her streak of UREAL alive. Shonny dispatched that she was putting our new Formulation Two sunscreen to the test at the race and on “Insano”, the tallest water slide in the world at 41 meters! From the pics we have seen all over FB, looks like she certainly did.

Robert Stehlik sent us this video of the Blue Planet Surf SUP Clinic and Demo Day which was held last Nov. 6, 2010. The highlights of that day were Board Design Clinics with John Amundson and Kevin Seid. There was also a short paddling clinic with Jeff Chang and Robert Stehlik. I was there and definitely think people got some good info. Robert’s friend Fabrice shot and edited the video below.

Denise Darval-Chang, an avid paddler just started a new shuttle service for the island of Oahu, Hawaii. So far it’s just for Hawaii Kai to Kaimana downwinders. Here’s some info below and an example of her schedule. There’s supposed to be something on facebook but I couldn’t find it. Her contact info is below too. I haven’t had a chance to try it yet but plan to do so soon. This is great for the sport so please support her by using this service.

The XTERRA World Championships is truly a magical thing. The vibe, the people, the power, the earth, the challenge all wrapped into a 1 mile swim, 20 mile bike and 7.5 mile run- in the lava and dirt. I will come out of character here to tell you that this “experience” is atop the world’s greatest sporting venues. The Olympics, Tour de France, Masters, etc.. just don’t have the same rock-n-roll. Recap of the BOP Event in California by Connor Baxter
Another great event here in California at the 2010 Dana Point Rainbow Sandals Battle of the Paddle. There were a total of five races involved with the Battle of the Paddle over 2 days. There is the main event, which is the Elite race, the Open Age group race, Distance race, Team Relay, and the Kids race. I competed in the Elite race, Open Age group, Distance race, and Team Relay.
