Zane Schweitzer makes it two from two on the European Cup, winning Oleron & Bilbao
Zane Schweitzer (Starboard) puts on another stellar performance today to secure another win here at Stop 2 of the European Cup presented by Starboard: the Oleron Island Paddle Challenge. With a 3rd place in the Long distance race yesterday, Zane stepped up on Day 2 of the event to secure a win in the sprint racing, duplicating his results from Bilbao and notching up another well deserved victory.

Titouan Puyo continues his charge to take the win on Day 1 of the Oleron event
Titouan Puyo (Starboard) continues his charge today at the beautiful Island of Oleron in France by taking the win on day one of the Oleron Island Stand Up Paddle Challenge, stop number 2 of the European Cup, presented by Starboard. A relatively slow start, saw Titouan gradually build momentum through the race and then step up into overdrive over the second half of the course to take the win in one of the first true downwinders of the season.

Tomorrow should be another beautiful downwind day in paradise. Lucky we live Hawaii!
We will meet at 4:30 pm at Kahala. Everyone is welcome to join, we may do a shorter course for the slower/entry level paddlers starting at Toes (the beach park at the bottom of Hawaii Loa ridge). The fast paddlers will do the longer run from Portlock to Kahala. We will not have a time trial training group in Hawaii Kai this Wednesday. Zane Schweitzer overcomes the odds to secure the well deserved win in Bilbao
Zane Schweitzer (Starboard) arrived at night on Friday, without his boards and paddles to take part in this weekends event and traveling all the way from Tahiti. Despite the borrowed board and paddle and travel exhaustion, Zane put on a strong performance on Day 1 to secure an impressive 3rd place in the Sprint Racing, especially considering the caliber of the competition.

Stop number one of the 2014 European Cup presented by Starboard will kick off this weekend in the beautiful Basque Country of Spain, as many of the World’s best athletes descend upon the dramatic European City of Bilbao to do battle.

We will offer a Professional Stand Up Paddle Association – PSUPA SUP instructor training and certification course in June. It’s a 5 day course and will be held in Honolulu from June 23rd to the 27th from 9 am (or 10 am on some days) to 12 am. The cost is $350 including all course materials and certification. The 2014 Olukai Ho’olaule’a was a great event. It might not be obvious to everyone there, but the Olukai team invests maybe as much time in doing a community service as it does on the race days. This year as they closed out their 6th annual Ho’olaule’a they shared a giveback day at Kaheawa Wind mills. More than 75 of the OluKai ‘Ohana planted 30 Koa trees.
