Here’s a quick video with Robert Stehlik testing how durable their new Inflatable SUP boards are. I asked him to bounce it like a basketball but he wasn’t that successful doing that. I think you’ll agree that the board passed the durability test.

In early February, I met up with C4 Waterman Ambassador Greg Pavao at their headquarters in Honolulu where he showed me some of their new SUP boards for 2012. Here’s a couple of videos with Greg explaining the features of their new stand up paddle board models. In the first video, Greg talks about the Mark Richards Pro Model, the SUBNine Micro-SUB and the SUBNine Forward-Vee Batwing SUP boards.

I recently picked up the new C4 Waterman iBlowfish shortboard inflatable surfboard. The board is 5′11″ and has a fixed set of twin fins on the bottom. The purpose for me was to have something that my kids can use and beat up a bit without it falling apart. This turned out to be the perfect solution.

Here are some pictures of the new S.I.C. F-16 V2 production model SUP race board. This is a solid core sandwich construction board. It’s basically the same as the hollow molded one but feels a bit more rigid and solid. I couldn’t tell much difference in weight but I never put them on a scale.

Here’s a short video of Mark Raaphorst and young Mo Freitas riding the S.I.C. Bullet 12′ SUP race board on some waist to chest high waves at Turtle Bay North Shore Oahu. The second clip with Mo in the video shows him catching the wave on the outside break and riding it all the way to shore. Check the time on the video and see how long he rides…pretty impressive. You can see in the video how easy the Bullet 12 catches waves and how well it can surf in the pictures below.

I recently took delivery on the new SIC Bullet 12 and I believe this is the first Bullet 12 with steering and the new handle. First thing I noticed was how light the board is. When I unloaded it out of the shipping container, even with the cardboard box it seemed way lighter than I expected. I was blown away when Mark told me he thought the board weighs 21 lbs.

Blue Planet Surf just launched a signature line of SUP and surfboards. Here’s a few shots of Robert Stehlik SUP surfing the new Blue Planet 10′6″ SUP stand up paddle board at Turtle Bay. Waves that day were shoulder to overhead and it was fairly windy. The 10′6″ looked pretty stable and judging from Robert’s surfing, it turns pretty well for a wide board. I think most of these were sold already so check with Blue Planet to see when the next shipment arrives.
