This year’s Molokai to Oahu SUP race dodged the bullet of Tropical Storm Flossie. Luckily for the racers and spectators they got sunny skies and some trade winds. Unfortunately though, Flossie was still messing up the wind and water conditions which caused the race to be one of the hardest in M2O SUP history. Hamburg kicks off 3 weeks of racing for the World Series
From the 16th – 18th August, the World’s best will head to Hamburg, Germany for Stop 5 on the 2013 Stand Up World Series: the Camp David World Cup of Stand up Paddling. This final stop on the European Trilogy events will provide vital ranking points towards each athlete’s title campaign, but also, the winning Man and Woman from across this European sub Series (France, Spain & Germany) will win their free stay at Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore of Oahu for the prestigious World Championship Finals on the 11th – 13th October.

The 32-Mile Molokai-2-Oahu Event was the hardest race I have done this year.
My family and I went from Maui to Molokai on Friday on our boat. We brought my boards, our food, water, clothes, provisions, and Igloo coolers. It was great to get there a couple days early to relax.

After two dramatically competitive events in France and Spain as a part of the European Trilogy on the 2013 Stand Up World Series, we are now building up to the Camp David World Cup of SUP in Hamburg, Germany, to take place from the 16th – 18th August right in the middle of the City.

Connor Wins The 2013 DaHui Race
The 2013 DaHui race was amazing. It was on the North Shore of Oahu and started at Turtle Bay and went to Waimea Bay, which is about 7 miles. I got there and scoped out my competition and knew who was going to be fast – Travis Grant, Scott Gamble, Kody Kerbox, Mo Freitas, Kaeo Abbey.

Connor Baxter takes the win in sprints & overall in Bilbao
Connor Baxter (Starboard) makes it a clean sweep in Bilbao with a convincing win in both the long distance and sprint racing making it his 4th consecutive bullet win on the 2013 Stand Up World Series, thereby strengthening his ratings lead. In a challenging Long distance race that took in some of the most dramatic sites that the striking city of Bilbao has to offer, Connor played it strategically, waiting for the right moment to strike and burst into the lead to take the win.

His 3rd Straight win in the World Series giving him a 100% winning record this year!

Stop 3 for the World Series in Oleron France was an amazing event. This was a two-day event and like always we had both a long distance and sprint races. The first day we kicked it off with the distance and it was about 6.5km. Last-minute a storm came through and they had to change it from 30km to 6.5km. I arrived in Nice on Thursday afternoon – 2 days before the race. But – unfortunately my Starboard Race board did not show up at the airport. Yannick, who organizes the Event, picked both Bart and me up at the airport and we drove to the Event Site. Sainte Maxime is a Mediterranean town located north of Saint Tropez.
