It’s with great excitement that we announce the 2nd Annual NAC Hovie SUP Festival. Newport Harbor’s largest Stand Up Paddle (SUP) competition will be held April 9th, 2011 at the Newport Aquatic Center.
The NAC Hovie SUP Festival Race is a benefit for the “NAC Youth Waterman’s Academy” proceeds will be directed to NAC foundation.

The Vail Valley Foundation opened registration for the 10th installment of the Teva Mountain Games to be held June 2-5, 2011 in Vail, Colorado. The Games are the nation’s largest celebration of adventure sports, art, music and the mountain lifestyle and attract nearly 2,500 amateur and professional athletes and 40,000 spectators over the four-day event.

Trials Completed in giant surf
The giant surf continued today as we picked up where we left off with the Sunset Beach Pro, presented by Turtle Bay Resort, with the quarterfinals of the Trials. As the heats progressed it was clear that power and local knowledge were advantageous, as Chuck Patterson from Dana Point and Haley Fiske from San Francisco showcased the power approach, and Pomai Hoapili, with his no compromise approach to riding big Sunset, demonstrated the local advantage. Turtle Bay Expression Session
On Saturday Turtle Bay hosted an expression session as a precursor to the Sunset Beach Pro. Kai Lenny, Robin Johnston, Kala Alexander, Mo Freitas, Antoine Delpero, and Leco Salazar all took part in the event.
