Ubatuba Pro Grand Slam to run from 27th April – 5th May
The Ubatuba Pro Grand Slam will run from the 27th April – 5th May in the beautiful region of Ubatuba, just north of Sao Paolo, Brazil.
The first weekend will see the World Series hit one of the Town’s many beautiful beaches, with its Long distance and sprint races, coupled with open and youth racing divisions and relays.
After a dramatic World Series Opener held in the form of the Aragas Magallanes Paddle Challenge, presented by Stand Up Latino and powered by Big Foot Adventure, tension will be mounting as the best of Brazil will congregate to take on the world’s best international riders for the next chapter towards the World Championship Title in 2013.
Kai Lenny (Naish) and Connor Baxter (Starboard) will rekindle their battle in Ubatuba, but also the Danish Viking Casper Steinfath (Naish) and the on form Zane Schweitzer (Starboard) from Maui amongst many others.

The Stand Up World Tour returns to Itamambuca Beach
After a dramatic 2012 event that saw the young Mo Freitas (Focus SUP/ Body Glove) from Hawaii clinch the victory in the dying minutes of the heat ahead of current World Champion Leco Salazar, the pressure will be on this year as the World Tour Contenders return to the magnificent Itamambuca Beach for Stop 2 of the 2013 season. From the 30th April to the 5th May, Itamambuca Beach will play host to the world’s best.
Coming off a dramatic victory in Sunset, 2x World Champion Kai Lenny (Naish) is on a mission this year, as is Robin Johnston (Mistral), who finished 2nd at Sunset, but also Kody Kerbox (Naish), fresh off a 3rd place in the Abu Dhabi All Stars, but also at Sunset back in February.
However, also back and looking to retain his event title will be Mo Freitas and Brazilian superstar Leco Salazar will be looking to take back the Brazil win with a 2 out of 3 record on the Stand Up World Tour here in Brazil.

Women to be represented in both the World Tour & Series
The women are to be represented in both the World Tour and World Series in the Ubatuba Pro Grand Slam, as the first official stop for the World Series for the women and the second World Tour surfing event will take place at Itamambuca Beach in Ubatuba.

The Abu Dhabi All Stars makes waves in the UAE
The Abu Dhabi All Stars proves a huge success in the UAE, as athletes converged on the Middle East for an incredible display of high performance surfing and racing.
The All Stars lived up to its name, as all athletes put it all on the line in the pool for the surfing contest, with Zane Schweitzer (Starboard) stealing the show with a series of excellent scores, inclusive of a perfect and unanimous 10 point ride. He was followed closely by the other on form surfer of the event, Ian Vaz (Art in Surf) from Brazil who finished in a very worthy 2nd place.
In 3rd, Kody Kerbox (Naish) once again wowed the judges as he did in Sunset to continue his incredible roll in 2013, while in 4th, the dark horse Remi Quique from France proved that he is certainly a force to be reckoned with on the global stage.

Abu Dhabi All Stars Race provides inflatable excellence
The Abu Dhabi All Stars provides another first for the world of performance paddling, with a Sprint Racing format contested on inflatable boards. While the main focus of the event was on the surfing component, some of the most intense battles took place in front of the Corniche in Abu Dhabi itself.
With amongst the world’s best athletes in attendance, it was a battle to the end as Connor Baxter (Starboard) from Maui stole the show, followed by Jamie Mitchell from Australia, the ever impressive and well rounded Zane Schweitzer in 3rd, Paul Jackson (Fanatic) in 4th and Kody Kerbox (Naish) in 5th.

In the women, Caroline Angibaud & Olivia Piana do battle
In the women’s division, after Caroline Angibaud claimed victory in a strong display of performance Stand Up Paddle Surfing in the pool at Wadi Adventure, Olivia Piana (Fanatic) stole the show in the racing component to take the overall win at the Abu Dhabi All Stars with a 1st and 2nd place respectively.
Caroline had to settle for 2nd, with a 1st in the surf and 3rd in the racing. Manca Notar (Naish) was a standout in the racing, while Jen Scully, US citizen, but Dubai resident represented for the UAE.

Zane Schweitzer is crowned the Abu Dhabi All Star overall
Zane Schweitzer (Starboard) from Maui is therefore crowned the Abu Dhabi Champion for 2013, as his name is engraved in a Gold Dhow for future All Stars to follow, winning the surfing event and finishing an impressive 3rd place in the Racing.
Zane is followed by friend and fellow Maui resident Kody Kerbox (Naish) in 2nd, with his 3rd in the surf and 5th in racing further bolstering his incredible start to 2013. While in 3rd place and making it true Maui affair, the winner of the race, Connor Baxter (Starboad) stands tall with a 10th place in the surf, showcasing an impressive display of progressive stand up paddling across the board.
With the future already secured for the All Stars return to Abu Dhabi in 2014 and discussions in place for the roll out of a major World Series stop, the stopwatch has already started as we build up to the 2014 Abu Dhabi All Stars presented by Abu Dhabi Sailing and Yacht Club, UAE SUP and Wadi Adventure and in association with One to One Hotels.
