The Huntington Beach Pro will begin the 28th September
The long anticipated Huntington Beach Pro, stop 4 of the 2011 Stand Up World Tour will kick off next Tueday 27th evening, with a welcome, meet and greet and registration evening at Tommy Bahama Grille in Newport, Costa Mesa from 5 – 8pm.
As tension mounts coming into this pinnacle 4th stop on Tour, all eyes are on Huntington with all the Top riders in attendance and one of the largest and most competitive Trials fields in the history of the Tour.

People’s Choice Super Session now live: your vote counts
The Waterman League is proud to announce a new event component that is being introduced at the Huntington Beach Pro thanks to our technical innovation partners ⎨Ui⎬ Foundry: the People’s Choice Super Session allows the audience to vote for who they want to see in an exclusive 5 person Super Session, to be held on October 1st at the Huntington Beach Pro.

For this event, the on site audience will be given the responsibilty of judging the athletes on their own mobile device to determine which athlete should win this prestigious Super Session and as a result, a round trip ticket to the ever mystical islands of Tahiti care of Air Tahiti Nui, the surfer’s Airline. In the future, this will be a live online feature, but for now, make it down to Huntington Beach and play your part in making history!
Women & Children to step up at the Huntington Beach Pro
The first Official Women’s Expression Session will take place at the Huntington Beach Pro to showcase the ever growing female participation in the sport of Stand Up Paddling, but also some of the leading women Stand Up Paddlesurfers in the world right now. This Exhibition will take place on Thursday 29th October, so stay tuned to find out who will be crowned Champion.
As always, the youth, the future of the sport will be represented at Huntington Beach with the Na Kama Kai Youth Challenge for aspiring U16 athletes. Following the success at Turtle Bay Resort for the Sunset Beach Pro, and the outstanding show of European talent at the La Torche Pro in France, Leading Stand Up World Tour athletes will be watching closely and fearfully to see who their future adversaries will be!
Na Kama Kai Clinic at Huntington Beach Harbor, Mon 3rd
As usual, we will be hosting a Na Kama Kai Youth Clinic at Huntington Beach Harbor on Monday 3rd October providing unique opportunities for the area’s underprivileged youth.
We will also be running a demo day that is open to everyone to come down and try stand up paddling for themselves, in conjunction with our event partner Starboard. So make a point to come by Huntington Beach Harbor on Monday 3rd October to try the sport on everyone’s lips andcheck out the latest range of boards from Starboard.
Skol presents the Alma Mormaii International, Brazil
Stop 5 of the 2011 Stand Up World Tour will take place at the beautiful beach town of Maresias, in Sao Paolo, Brazil From the 22nd – 30th October, the penultimate stop on the 2011 Stand Up World Tour will unfold in dramatic style, as the local contingent will look to take on the very best in the world and come out on top.

Surf Exhibtion announced for the Namotu World Paddle Challenge, Fiji presented by Air Pacific
Watch out for the groundbreaking surf exhibition to take place in Fiji during the Namotu World Paddle Challenge Fiji. Already confirmed are World Champion Kai Lenny, Hawaiian legend Dave Kalama and North Shore up and coming waterman, Noa Ginella. Hawaii Island Finals will run from 26th Nov. – 4th Dec.
The homecoming for the 2011 Tour is once again in place on the Big Island of Hawaii from the 26th November to the 4th December. From the unique and heartfelt Aloha that the island exudes to the climax that the this event provides for the Stand Up World Tour with the crowning of the World Champion, the Hawaii Island Finals will not disappoint.
Watch out for the new and vastly enhanced Hilo Ocean Festival that will take place in Hilo Bay on the 4th December, featuring SUP, prone and Canoe races as well as Ancient Hawaiian Games and Challenges to mark the opening of the traditional Makahiki season. This event will provide the fitting close to the dramatic 2011 season.
