Gondolin Kluba held yesterday, January 29, during the inauguration of its new local: a paddle in solidarity with the Saharawi people in the river Urumea.
On Saturday, January 29, Gondolin SUP Klub, the first club of Stand Up Paddle (SUP) of Euskadi and guests paddled in Urumea for the Saharawi people collecting food for the Solidarity Caravan organized by the Friends of the Sahara (Association of Friends of the Rasd).

Here’s a new model from Planet Sun’s apparel line, the Zen Paddle Master hat. John “Mr. Sunshine” O’Malley, owner of Planet Sun, gives us a detailed explanation of the features of the Zen Paddle Master hat. The model is Duane Desoto who just won the Oxbow World Championship for longboard surfing.

3rd Annual Surftech Shootout to add
Stand Up Paddleboard Race
It started in 2008 as an “Expression Session”. Since then the Surftech Shootout has quickly become one of the most competitive and prestigious SUP surf events in the world. In association with the Santa Cruz Paddlefest, March 18-20th, many of the world’s top SUP surfers will once again converge upon the town of Santa Cruz, California and battle it out in the waters of the legendary Steamer Lane.

Here are some pictures of the new S.I.C. Custom 14′ Bullet SUP race board. I just got this board on January 18 and I was able to try it out in glassy south shore conditions and waist high waves. My first impression is that the board surfs really well for a 14′ board and seems to connect small bumps but it’s hard to tell until I ride it in real downwind conditions.

The DragonFly is Planet Sun’s new model for their topwater eyewear line. I use the Sunphibian model religiously when paddling SUP, OC-1 or Canoe. This is the newest model that has a detachable strap and wrap type frame. I wear these on the beach and also at my kid’s sport events. They are comfy and the lenses cut the glare.
